IMPORTANT:
Please note that the availability request is not
a reservation. After we receive your request, we will contact you with reservation
availability.
If you request a wedding date fewer than 12 months in advance
and we confirm that it is
available, payment of the rental fee in full is required for a permanent reservation.
If you request a wedding date more than 12 months in
advance and we verify that it is
available, a 50% non-refundable deposit will secure a conditional reservation.
A n original signed Reservation
Agreement is required to finalize a reservation at the Chapel. The signed
Agreement confirms that our clients understand and agree to abide by University
of Maryland and Memorial Chapel policy. A signed Agreement is due to the
Reservations Office within two weeks of the initial reservation date. (The
initial reservation date is the day when payment is taken to reserve a couple’s
desired wedding date.) If a signed Agreement is not returned within two weeks,
the reservation will be cancelled and the reservation deposit will be refunded
but not the $50 administrative fee.

A reservation is not final until
the reservation deposit, non-refundable $50 administrative fee and signed
Reservations Agreement are received by the Chapel Reservations Office.
Payments are accepted by phone with VISA, MasterCard or
Discover. Payments by check or money order must be paid in person by
appointment.
One more important disclaimer concerning conditional (more than 12 months
in advance) reservations ...
Campus departments have the right to reserve the Chapel
as long as they contact the Reservations Office at least 12 months in advance.
This means that you could be bumped from any date reserved more than one year
in advance. This also means that if you select a date that is more than 12 months
in advance, that date might need to change, as campus departments have priority
in booking.
If this happens, we will notify you immediately to try to accommodate your
reservation on another date.
Your full deposit will be refunded if a suitable date cannot be found.
If you are not bumped by the first day of the month that
is 12 months before your wedding, payment of the balance of your rental fee will
make your reservation permanent.
Failure to pay the balance due will result in a canceled
contract.
