Rehearsal For Your Wedding

Wedding Rehearsal
Included in your rental fee is a 90-minute rehearsal. Wedding rehearsals are held on the Thursday or Friday evening before your wedding weekend.

Event Managers
Your Event Manager will meet with you at the beginning of your rehearsal to determine the set up for your wedding ceremony. He or she will note which of the chapel altarpieces you’ve decided to use and diagram how you would like them arranged. Our staff will have the setup in place at the start of your time period on the wedding day.

Set Up
It is very helpful to determine your setup needs before coming to your rehearsal by using the photos in your wedding brochure. All of the measurements and dimensions of the chapel altarpieces, aisle and pews are noted so that you can plan your decorations in advance.

Wedding Coordinator Not Provided
While all of our Event Managers are helpful and available the entire time you are at the Chapel, none of them are professional wedding coordinators. They should not be asked to perform duties that relate to the progress of your ceremony. Your Event Manager is available primarily for "backstage" logistical help, i.e. keys, lights, microphones, set up, etc. During your rehearsal and ceremony, your Event Manager may be reached in room 1101 of the Chapel, or at 301-314-9866.

Music At Your Wedding

Organ: Both of the chapels have an organ available. Any musician is welcome to play the Rodgers electric organ in the West Chapel. If you would like an organist to play our Moller pipe organ for your Main Chapel wedding, you must contract with one of our approved organists.

Piano: Any musician is welcome to use the grand piano in the Main Chapel or the upright piano in the West Chapel.

Other Music Needs: You may choose to have other instruments, or no music at all. We provide chairs for musicians but do not have music stands available. Those wishing to rehearse their music must reserve more time or do so during your scheduled rehearsal.

CD or Cassette: The chapel sound system does not have the capability to play pre-recorded music. If you choose to use a CD or cassette you must bring your own stereo. Contact the Reservations Office at (301) 314-9866
for more information.

Dressing Room: A dressing room is provided for each the bride and the groom if renting the Main Chapel. If renting the West Chapel, there is one room available for you to use as needed (whether a prep room or a storage room for personal belongings).  Please ask to see them the night of your rehearsal.
