Memorial Chapel is available for rent to
the general public. To qualify for the University of
Maryland discount,
either the bride or groom must provide proof of current full-time enrollment
or a degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
The University of Maryland discount also applies to:
- current University of Maryland, College Park
faculty and staff, and their sons and daughters. (A current faculty/staff ID card is required.)
Change Fee: As a courtesy a reservation may be
changed once at no cost. All further changes require a $50 fee per change.
Security Deposit: A valid credit card number is
required with each contract as security for possible damages. Nothing will be
charged to the card unless chapel repairs or extra clean up is needed following
use of the chapel.
NOTE: Chapel rental fees may be increased at any time.
Once your reservation is permanent, the "rental fee" will not change.

FEES
Nonrefundable Administrative Fee: A $50,
non-refundable administration fee is charged to each reservation.
Rental Fee/General Public: Main: $1,200
...West: $800
Rental Fee/UM Affiliates: Main: $800
...West: $500
*The Fee Includes:
- A wedding time block of two
hours and forty-five minutes or in the Main Chapel, or two hours and 30
minutes in the West Chapel.
- Various
altarpieces, microphones and a Chapel Assistant to set up any of our
equipment you choose to use.
- 90-minute rehearsals are
scheduled on Thursday and Friday evenings.
- If renting the Main
Chapel, a bridal suite and grooms' room is provided. If renting
the West Chapel, there is one room available to be used as
needed (whether for prep or storage for personal belongings).
Special Situations:
To insure that each couple can accomplish all that is planned within their
allotted time, without interfering with other chapel events, it is required
that two consecutive time periods be reserved if any if the following situations
apply to your wedding day plans:
(1) If you expect over 300 guests. (2) If you plan to have a ceremony longer than 45 minutes.
(3) If you plan to greet guests in a receiving line. (4) If you plan to have large decorations such as an arch, canopy or
chuppah.
